Biking From Phnom Penh To Siem Reap – 3 Days

- Duration: 12 Days (approx.)
- Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Asia
- Product code: BIT
DAY 1: PHNOM PENH TO KOMPONG CHAM (MAX 65KM)
Your cycle guide and support vehicle will meet you at your hotel in Phnom Penh in between 7 and 7:30am and your bike will be adjusted to ensure a comfortable fit. Once you are ready, your cycle guide will lead you through the early morning hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh streets before embarking on a ferry to the other side of the River.
It is part of Phnom Penh City, but the lifestyle is totally different. You will cycle on back roads where you will encounter friendly locals and children. We will stop and have lunch at either a host family or pagoda on the way. On arrival in Kompong Cham you will check into your hotel before going out to a local beer garden for dinner.
DAY 2: KOMPONG CHAM TO KOMPONG THOM (MAX 70KM)
An early start this morning as you leave Kompong Cham and soon turn off the main highway and follow a road which gradually climbs and passes through shady rubber plantations. We ride over dirt and tarmac roads along the Mekong to Kampong Thom, a picturesque town on the banks of the Stung Saen River, which hosts a magnificent Khmer temple site.
DAY 3: KOMPONG THOM TO SIEM REAP (MAX 70KM)
After breakfast you will be transferred by A/C van 90km to a town of Kompong Kdei in Siem Reap Province where you resume cycling. You will ride on a tree- shaded red soil road with beautiful villages along the way. This area is just 60km from Siem Reap Town but only a few tourists come here. Your first break is at Makak Water Reservoir, which was constructed during the Pol Pot regime. Some survivors from the regime still come to this place to recall their hard time. From here you continue your ride to the village of Kvao. Here you won’t see many villages, only jungle. After Kvao village you will cycle on an 800-year-old ancient road, passing through an area, which used to be the front line of the Khmer Rouge in the 1980s. Signs of war and the subsequent de-mining campaign become more prevalent, hitting home how much has changed in this country in only the last few years. Soon after you will arrive at Beng Mealea Temple and after a quick look around the temple you will pedal for the last part to the town of Damdek before we finally transfer you to your hotel in Siem Reap Town. Bid farewell to your cycling crew after an enjoyable few days of bike holiday.
